About Dr. David E. Martin

Dr. David E. Martin is the co-founder and CEO of RASA® Energy, whose technology achieved the first commercial-scale production of hydrocarbons and silica from Utah tar sands, and founder and chairman of M·CAM®, the international innovation-finance and intangible-asset firm he established in 1998. His inventions include a laser-integrated system for image-guided surgical targeting, a technology that deciphers the intention and motivation behind human communication, and a method for establishing and enhancing the creditworthiness of intellectual property — helping make innovation itself a financeable asset. He created the CNBC IQ100, which used the economic strength of companies’ intellectual property to identify 100 of America’s most innovative companies, and translated this approach into three NYSE-listed investment funds spanning U.S., global and international-trade strategies. His sovereign and public-sector advisory work has extended from the U.S. Treasury and Congress to the EU Presidency, OECD, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea and U.S. intelligence agencies, on subjects as diverse as intellectual-property finance, tax prosecution, international trade, mining policy, biological and chemical weapons, and counter-proliferation. He served as Assistant Professor of Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and has taught at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Notre Dame’s Executive MBA program. He holds a PhD from the University of Virginia and is a Batten Fellow at UVA’s Darden School of Business.

David lives in Virginia with his beloved wife, Kim; and their three dogs, Wolfie, Willie, and Meatball.
